Every ending must have a start.

My resolution to paint (reduce) my pile of miniatures didn’t seem too daunting until I actually started looking at some numbers. I thought it might be wise to know what lies ahead and so took a tally of the stuff in my room.

This is just the stuff I have to hand and doesn’t include anything back at my old home in the loft and I have focused on games that I currently play or plan to relaunch during 2014.

  • Batman Miniatures Game – 4
  • Confrontation – 24
  • Relics – 25
  • Infinity – 22
  • Hordes – 11
  • Warmachine – 86
  • Flames of War – 14 Bases of Infantry, 2 AT Guns, 2 Jeeps
  • Warhammer Fantasy – An entire Vampire Counts Army – I couldn’t be bothered counting
  • Warhammer 40k – 7 Marines, Necron Battleforce, Necron Lord, 3 Tomb Blades
  • Malifaux – 12
  • Dystopian Wars – 59
  • Dreadball – 4

I think given we are currently playing Dreadball and Batman that these will be my focus (plus they have low model count).

Keep watching for news on how it goes.

#miniaturemonday Don’t Thread On Me

Back in the early days of wargaming history myself and Gavin from Tor Gaming used to play 15mm American War of Independence (or the Revolutionary War depending on your point of view).

One thing I remember is Gav picking the French because their uniforms were white and would be easy to paint once primed that colour. I played the American/Native forces whilst a neighbour at the time played the British Redcoats.

This, and this only, is the reason that my Britanan in Tor Gaming’s Relics system are in blue and buff and the title of the article is based on a flag found at that time.

My posts seem to come along as regularly as Santa. Hope you get all the shiny things you need.

Merry #miniaturemonday Xmas

I thought, as a gesture of goodwill to all, that I would actually paint something for #miniaturemonday so may I present to you St. Nikolaus of the Britanan Empire from Tor Gaming.

This was a really fun mini to paint, as have all the models from the Relics range.

Relics Goodies

Yay, happy days. My Relics mug has arrived from Tor Gaming’s Zazzle store.

I look forward to drinking the tears of my opponents from this mug – or tears of laughter as I roll an incredible number of 1’s when I only need 2+ in a game – or coffee

You can find a link to the store on the left hand side of this blog – go and buy a shirt or mug or something and show your support for this excellent game.

>Building buildings

>This morning has been spent trying to finish my buildings for Infinity ready for ‘Try Something New’. I just need to add the corners, detail and paint.

Oh, and finish my Relics board – and 5 minis for Infinity.

Argh.

>Britanan Demo Force

>All is quiet.

>Bit silent lately as I have been away at Uni but things are progressing – slowly.

Britanan Starter set is complete, Steamborg Executioner is done, Ramos is on the bench.

Infinity minis and buildings on back burner as they are not till week three of our ‘Try Something New’ promotion.

Photos to come when I get a decent camera/light set up

What’s on the desk at the moment?
The Britanan Starter set from Tor Gaming is currently in the queue ready for ‘Try Something New’.
Here’s the Troopers as a taster.

>Try Something New update

>

Right, all my Britanan are built and based ready for priming. Uncharted Seas sails primed ready for a quick paint, nothing special. Steamborg Executioner has base layer finished. ALEPH Deva needs basing.

Three and a bit weeks to go.

>Relics Demo Board – In progress.

>In readiness for an upcoming series of demonstrations days at my LGS I have the task of putting together a 2′ square demo board for Tor Gaming’s Relics.

Now, I have a bit of a soft spot for the Britanan (some of you may know this) so I want to have a board that has hints of the Britanan Empire before its decimation.

So, firstly. a quick sketch of my intended layout. As you can see I am certainly no artist.

The dotted line going from top to bottom is a path based upon the bases of my Troopers

The lower right is a hill, there may be a pond to the mid-left and then ruins in the board centre and on the hill and finally some trees.

Here is where I am at the moment then, the path is cut from cardboard squares. the wall is carved from blue insulation foam. I will add a close up of the wall in the next post. The wall isn’t attached as it will end up on the hill.
